DEVELOPING SUCCESSFUL GLOBAL COALITIONS IN A DYNAMIC WORLD – ASAE CHICAGO – 20 AUGUST @ 2PM

The discussions will take place at the ASAE Annual Meeting on Monday, August 20 from 2 pm -3 pm in the ASAE OpenSpace Pods discussion area on Level 3 near Halls F1 & F2, near ASAE Bookstore and Engagement Center (look for signs or view on the ASAE Annual Meeting App).

Developing Successful Global Coalitions in a Dynamic World

In Association Laboratory’s ground-breaking environmental scan Looking Forward 2018™, 70% of international and global association CEOs and senior staff indicated they were concerned about creating successful global partnerships or coalitions.

Participants in this open discussion will learn how two associations successfully overcame this challenge. You will have the opportunity to learn about the association’s rationale and essential components of their strategy and to question principal leaders about how they navigated the foreseen and unforeseen challenges to implementation.

Introduction

Dean West, FASAE and President of Association Laboratory will briefly present the most recent research outlining the challenges faced by international and global associations and moderate two case studies describing successful global expansion strategies.

Case Study #1: European Society for Radiotherapy & Oncology (ESTRO)

Hervé Bosquet, CMM, International Advisor with Global Association Hubs Partnership and former Director of the Brussels Convention Bureau will outline the rationale for ESTRO’s expansion in Asia. The strategy generated a 25% increase in demand for ESTRO congresses and education now representing 20% of the society’s total revenue.

Founded in 1980, the European Society for Radiotherapy & Oncology is a scientific organisation that fosters the role of radiation oncology to improve patients’ care in the multimodality treatment of cancer.

Case Study #2: Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. (AMCA)

Alfons Westgeest, FASAE and Executive Vice President of Kellen will highlight how the Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. successfully expanded into Europe and the Middle East by creating direct management of the association’s Certified Rating Program (CRP) Certification and successful integration with AMCA’s regional meetings, seminars and trade shows using a coordinated marketing and communications strategy designed to  build and maintain local relationships with key industry contacts and regional organizations.

The Air Movement and Control Association is an international, not-for-profit association of the world’s manufacturers of fans, louvers, dampers, air curtains, air flow measurement devices, ducts, acoustic attenuators and other air system components.

Kellen – with CIMglobal in support -provides management services for the expansion of AMCA’s representation by managing AMCA’s European and Middle East government and regulatory advocacy for standards and oversee issues management, governance, membership services and marketing.
